1 Year and 3 months post transplant :)

I can't believe it has been over 1 year since Calvin has had his transplant. Calvin is the healthiest he has ever been in his 7 1/2 years of life. He is going to school everyday and is living a life as a normal healthy little boy! Calvin recently had a surgery on his lip and nose which was a success. He looks great! Life has been so busy for us, but in a good way. We still have a long way to go in surgeries and in health. But our hope and faith is UP! We want to thank our friends and Families and all of those who have followed us, prayed, supported, and believed in us through out this journey! Words cannot express how greatful we are to have had your love and support! I will keep blogging to keep you all updated with Calvin's progress. God Bless!!!

going home

We are going home today! Turns out Calvin had an infection in his blood. He has been on IV antibiotics, and will go home on them too. Other than that he is doing fine and once again we are ready to just go HOME!

....

So we are back in the hospital. Everything is fine We think Calvin just had a stomach bug. We got here yesterday and are hopefully going home tomorrow. I'll let you know if anything else comes up.

update

We are still home an Calvin is doing GREAT! He is now making his own blood. The last to come up were his platlets and they are now at 308,000! Its amazing! No more blood transfusions. His blood counts are normal! We are still going to the dr's twice a week and he is still on alot of different meds but throughout this year he will slowly be working his way off of them.
Life is Good!

:)

Everything is goin GOOD! Calvin and I are enjoying being at home. It seems since after this transplant that Calvin is a completely different boy. He has changed so much. He just feels good and it shows! We started this journey 3 months ago, had couple set backs but we did it! Calvin is on the road to being a healthy kid! I am sooo HAPPY!

10 more days....

So things are lookin good. The "bug" that was in the Meningitis was a very rare organisim that is very hard to get rid of. They did a spinal tap today and everything looks good, we will know for sure in 48 hours. Calvin has been on strong IV antibiotics for 7 days and have 10 days left, then we get to finally go home. We just pray that this meningitis stays gone. Calvin will be taking an antibiotic everyday for the rest of his life to prevent him from getting meninigitis again.
